The Indonesian Journal of Literacy (IJL) is the official journal of the Indonesian Literacy Educators’ Association (ILEA), the professional association for teachers and educators of literacy in Indonesia.

The Indonesian Journal of Literacy (IJL) is a peer-reviewed journal that contributes to the development of literacy in or about Indonesia through bridging literacy research and practices. IJL offers a forum for literacy practitioners, educators, activists and researchers to scrutinise research evidence, reflect on analysed accounts of innovative practices in literacy, disrupt traditional notions of literacy and literacy instruction, and examine policy development in literacies.

IJL publishes biannually in August and February. It welcomes research and scholarly papers, including original empirical research and critical essays, as well as book reviews. Articles represent diverse research paradigms and theoretical orientations to consider literacy across Indonesia and worldwide.
